Skincare really has improved in years and bounds in the last few years. I still remember when my mom used to put simple “cold cream” on her face after a bath or shower. In case you don’t know, cold cream is just emulsification of oil in water, with some fragrance. And that’s it!
Luckily, in today’s times, we have a wide selection of skincare products to choose from with ingredients ranging from the regular to the Sci-fi inspired. Not only do we have some really super creams, serums, cleansers etc, but we also have access to some of the best skincare electronic devices ever created. So many in fact that you may be left scratching your head over which ones to try first.
To help you out, I have compiled a handy guide to the top 3 devices that you absolutely HAVE to include in your beauty regimen.
This is by far my favorite of all the modern skincare devices. It was an absolute revelation the first time I used it. So much so that it had me running to my husband to show him the incredible results, and how much fun it was to use.
Simply put, the Hydrasonic or ultrasonic skin scrubber uses sound waves to coax the sebum and other gunk out of your pores. It has three modes, two of which are for cleansing, and the third is for nutrition and overall skin health. The really good ones come with a vaporizer that flushes your pores with product as it glides over your skin. I have to refrain from using this thing more often than one should, simply because it works so well, and is sooooo satisfying to use!
You may have heard or read of spa’s offering LED light therapy for skin. But, did you know that you can get the same results, with a similar device, in the comfort of your own home?
LED light therapy has been proven by none other than the great NASA to seriously improve tissue healing, both on wounds and scar tissue. This is super good news for your skin! Red light has been clinically proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles, as well as improving collagen production. This leaves your skin looking firmer and younger. Blue light kills bacteria, seriously reducing acne and other skin infections. green light zaps melanin and other dark or light spots, leaving your skin smooth and even-toned.
These devices are great for other parts of your body too, and I have found them invaluable in treating migraines. Good ones come with a temperature change as you go from blue to red light. Red being warm and blue being cool. This encourages blood flow in your skin as well as healing.
Have you ever gone to a spa for a wax? I know I have, and it was a completely unpleasant experience. Not only do you have a beautician all up and personal in your space, but it hurts like the bejeezus as well. Luckily for all of us that prefer smooth hair-free skin, we can now get home hair removal devices that use simple pulsed light and radio waves to leave your skin baby soft.
Light and radio waves I hear you ask? That is correct! The light and radio waves combine to heat up the hair follicle so that it cannot produce any more hair. To be fair, these devices don’t always work as well as a professional wax, but they can go a long way to reducing the amount of body hair that you have.
The world of skincare devices is just beginning to heat up. Within the last year or so alone we have seen some really interesting options come onto the market, promising to solve all sorts of skin conditions. Expensive spa days are becoming less and less necessary as we are able to really care for our skin at home. I, for one, cant wait to see what the future holds!
Red-faced is not something that we really ever want to be. Whether it’s caught out, or simply having a red shiny complexion. There are many, many things that can cause a red face though, not counting embarrassment. The most common ones are of course sun damage or acne, but what about some less common reasons? […]
